Just so you know Mr. Coyote. The boondoggle you call mass transit has benefits, the folks who published those stats don't want you to see the TTI's urban mobility report of 2007.

Nothing is free, but the TTI, a well respected institution shows that it saves us about 13% in wasted time and fuel and that number is no doubt much higher in cities like Chicago and New York. You have to remember there are still many big cities like Phoenix and Houston and Atlanta that do not have mass transit. What is your solution?

Actually, Houston has an inner-city light rail system and free buses. It also has a well-used Metro bus system serving the suburbs.
