Working With the Government

In my email today:

CDFW LICENSE PAPER STOCK NOTIFICATION

This email is to inform you that the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is discontinuing the BLUE license paper.  Effective November 1, all licenses must be printed on GREEN license paper.

Please check your license paper stock, if you do not have GREEN license paper, place an order through the CDFW terminal by following the directions below. Once you confirm and/or receive the GREEN license paper, please recycle the BLUE license paper.

Think of the hundreds of hours of meetings they had planning this color change, and the number of government workers now signed off through stress as a result

  2. Wilhelm Arcturus:

Hey, you got a full three weeks notice to get your affairs in order. I am sure the CDFW is just as fast at delivering new paper as some private company that has to compete on such things in order to stay in business. They certainly won't be overwhelmed and delay shipping because of a sudden, sharp uptick in demand.

  3. Jim Collins:

So how much does this paper cost? Every time I've dealt with the Government on something like this we were told to use existing stock until depleted. Of course I've never dealt with California's government.

    Hold on a mo.
They issue the licences /licenses. So they choose the colour / color.
You could print the application form on vellum, parchment, papyrus or toilet paper and it would make no difference to the grant of the licence / license...

  5. Andrew_M_Garland:

Print at the bottom of the form:

Be aware that this form is green, regardless of the color that you may initially perceive. It has adopted a green identity which is controlling in all matters.

  6. Not Sure:

"Once you confirm and/or receive the GREEN license paper, please recycle the BLUE license paper."

Or you can just save it until the green paper is replaced by blue paper.

... at just this moment it had been announced that Oceania was not after all at war with Eurasia. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Eurasia was an ally.

  7. JTW:

CDFW went green, for the environment...

  8. Mark:

You apparently didn't put one of the new cover sheets on your TPS report. You see, we're putting the cover sheets on all TPS reports now before they go out. If you could just go ahead and make sure you do that from now on that would be great. And, uh, I'll go ahead and make sure you get another copy of that memo, mkay?

  9. Kurt Droffe:

"Please notify us with form 25TZ6# on yellow that recycling has been done according to the License Paper Recycling Act of the State of California."

  10. Not Sure:

Do I have to work on Saturday, too?

  11. Peabody:

This paper self identifies as green. If you think otherwise, you are a colorist.

  12. Nehemiah:

    Green paper, brilliant!
