Amazon's Shipping Estimates Are Becoming Fraudulent

I have noticed for the last 6 months or so, at least here in Phoenix, that Amazon frequently does not deliver items when they promise.  It is not just an issue with the shipper, in the last two cases the item did not even ship until 1-2 days after the date they promised for delivery.

This has reached a head in the last week, when I ordered a number of items to be delivered immediately  -- I am leaving town and wanted some items to take to my son's apartment.  They are useless to me even a few hours after I depart home.  I ordered seven items on Monday with my prime membership, and all promised delivery that same day (one for free, two with a nominal upcharge).  Of these, none arrived on Monday.  One arrived on Tuesday and as of 4PM on Tuesday, the other six have not even shipped, and Amazon is showing them here on Wednesday at best.

I would not have bought these from Amazon had they given me accurate delivery estimates.  I am wondering if they are using fake, overly optimistic delivery estimates to try to woo business from bricks and mortar stores, whose one advantage is immediate fulfillment.

It's actually worse on the seller side as well. For example if I want to send out a 10x8x5 3 lb 7 oz package they charge me 17+$ for priority 3 day when in fact it's actually only 7.35. I can understand a 1-2$ difference but a 10 is complete bullshit and they know it. I have a feeling they are pocketing the money on the buyer side as well.

Have problems with them wright now in Quebec I went to Office de la protection du Consommateur http://www.opc.gouv.qc.ca/en/home/and and that I was not alone with Amazon that are not delivering and take your credit card for a ride... Got a layer that is going to take a class action law suit for all the people how have that problem with Amazon. Right now we have 22 persons in this as more and more people join that will cost Amazon Million of dollars........... And for us in Quebec that is free to take this class action law suit so here we go .....Will keep you in touch with how it's going !!!!!!!!

It's been the same with me, and what's galling is that Amazon changes the "expected" date on the order to match their delay. An order I placed eight days ago was supposed to be here by yesterday but hasn't even shipped yet, and as of this morning, they've changed the date it's expected to arrive to four days from now, as though I won't remember it was supposed to arrive by March 20. The best part is that it's medical equipment, a TENS unit my physical therapist says I need for continued at-home therapy on my ankle.

I have placed two orders with Amazon on Saturday afternoon, on both orders, items were in stock and fulfilled by Amazon - yet they are not being shipped for 6 days. Once shipped I get them within 2days. Amazon deliberately delays shipping by 4-6 days if you choose free shipping.

I ordered from Sears on Sunday night, also free shipping and they notified item was shipped Monday afternoon. I'll have my items delivered days before A Avon even ships.

Even Amazon free shipping isn't free, it's just included in the higher price. Google items you are looking to buy for example Amazon will sell item for $25 and free shipping . Yet you can find the same item elsewhere and its $15 and $9.99 shipping. Both cost the same but Amazon will hold your item for 6 days before shipping and others will ship the next day.

Nobody gets paid lower than minimum wage, unless you are illegal.

Same here, I paid $13+ dollars on top of "free shipping" rate to get in 2 days, they still are "processing" in warehouse of and IN STOCK item, 5 days later, quoting a delivery time of 2 days past.When I called Amazon they claim they have to send a form via email which will take another 2 days for them to answer. That they cannot call warehouse directly. AM I TO BELIEVE THEY CANNOT CALL THEIR OWN SHIPPING WAREHOUSES? Really? Guess we are all so stupid. My guess it with prime they have offered a service which has now exploded and they cannot fulfill their obligations promised. I am so angry, this is an item so a person who had stroke can take a bath. Yet I am still waiting with no explanation of why an is stock item, fulfilled by Amazon, stocked and shipped at their own warehouse, has not been mailed after my PAYING FOR THIS SERVICE. they removed the extra fee as if this makes it right........still waiting for my items. Amazon sucks. And forget power sellers, who ship their own items you will wait weeks for that while they blame carriers when in fact your item is just sitting in their storage till they call carrier for pick up, but they print postage and claim they mailed it, and they have not.

You are wrong, the power sellers use discounted services to ship and they are required to fill say a trailer before they can call them to pick it all up. So they have printed postage and indicated to you that the carrier does not always scan immediately and you might experience a delay in seeing the tracking info. WHEN IN FACT IT IS JUST SITTING AT SELLERS TILL THEY HAVE THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF ITEMS TO CALL CARRIER TO SHIP DISCOUNTED. They lie since it looks like they shipped, cause the printed postage and give you a tracking number for. But it is only valid after the carrier picks it up, AND THEY SCAN THEIR ITEMS IMMEDIATELY, THEY DON'T DELAY IN SCANNING. SO THEY LIE, THE SELLERS TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THE DELAY IS THE CARRIER AND NOT THEM. I MADE CALLS, TALKED TO PEOPLE KNOW HOW IT WORKS.

YEAH OK, THIS IS THE FAULT OF AMAZON ETC, HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ISSUES.

My post office delivers it when they get it, never pulling any bull crap, so really you think the worker cares what you paid or what they charge, they are not making less money or more money NO MATTER HOW YOU MAIL IT, they get paid by the hour, to even insinuate it, shows you have no ability to see reality.

Happened to me here in Fl. I think they need to be subject to a class action for fraud. Especially since I have tried to cancel the order (that was ordered on the 7th) on the 8th, 9th and now the 12th. They admit that it still has not shipped but they will not cancel the order.

For me late packages stated about a year ago and have just gotten worse over time. It started out with a late package here or there to now 75% is late. One time they told me if i want my packages on time to ship my items to a friends house that not in my area . the bad excuses I have been given have now made me shop else where
