For once, not a hosting issue. Apparently a corrupted .htaccess file, since editing that file back to an older version seemed to fix things.

For once, not a hosting issue. Apparently a corrupted .htaccess file, since editing that file back to an older version seemed to fix things.
Perhaps a more resilient file system is in order? ZFS or some such? Files shouldn't just "become corrupt" you know. Especially a file that is only read, not written, in ordinary use.
