People often underestimate her. She did the blonde bimbo well, but she had a presence you could see from the start. I'd call attention to the excellent classic The Asphalt Jungle, with one of her first appearances in a minor role... as a blonde bimbo.
It's a really great piece of film noir, one of the best -- well worth seeing just on its own.
It's also one of John Huston's best, and that's not from a particularly meager body of excellent work, either. If you aren't familiar with John Huston, you really don't appreciate film.

Theda Bara was actually a nice jewish goil from Cincinnati, and was kinda butt-ugly to boot. Clearly, *that* ain't Theda....Show us some Lulu. Or more MM.
I wish she were standing upright. Carrie Fisher looked so good to me because of her belly and hips. Really great figure. Marilyn looks good, too. Thanks for the photo.
