What Obama Meant When He Made His Health Insurance Promise
And folks, the opponents of my plan are trying to scare you. But if you like your health insurance the way it is, and if I like your health insurance the way it is, then you can keep it.
Seriously, this is how Jay Carney explains it
White House press secretary Jay Carney on Tuesday said President Obama's claim that all Americans could keep their health insurance plans under the new health law deserved a âfuller explanation,â acknowledging millions of consumers would not keep their current coverage.
After the passage of Obamacare, the president has repeatedly insisted that if any individual likes their health care plan, they could âkeep it.â
Carney on Tuesday added a crucial caveat to that promise, saying Americans could keep their insurance if the plan is âstill available.â
This is absolutely absurd. The whole meaning of the "If you like your health insurance..." promise was that the government would not ban your current policy, that the program was simply about adding options for the uninsured, not reducing options for the insured. Now Carney was saying, as if we all should have known, that what Obama meant was that you can keep your policy as long as we don't ban it.
Methinks1776:
Right. What Carney is saying is that you all should have known that Barack Hussein Obama was lying.
It is incredible to Carney that someone would even imagine for one second that this power-hungry bastard would ever tell the truth. About anything. Imagine Carney's surprise when the peasants started wailing "But Barry saaaaaid we can keep our insurance plans!".

He meant: “You’re getting single payer.”

It's interesting watching the BO supporters twisting themselves into pretzels trying to find a way to say "You should have known that Obama was lying" while keeping their lips firmly planted on his buttcheeks.

Straight from Obama himself. Can this be true? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoV0NeHNklk

"The whole meaning"
October 30, 2013, 12:43 pmWait - you tried to understand the "whole meaning" of a Government program?
Heh.

My new turn of phrase for my liberal friends:
October 30, 2013, 1:09 pm"I mean this as truly as Obama meant that people could keep their coverage."

Love the Corzine cameo in back.
Obama's just as corrupt as Corzine.

We know Obama broke his promise about keeping your health insurance. Here's a challenge to readers: Has Obama fulfilled ANY promise that he made since his 2008 campaign?
October 30, 2013, 3:46 pmMethinks1776:
Nah. Corzine could learn at that degenerate's feet.

Oblunder is the only reason Corzine isn't in jail right now.

He promised to fundamentally change the country.
He has done that, for the much, much worse.

And, of course, it's not just individuals who can't keep their plans. And, it's not just cancelled plans that are the problem... My employer-subsidized plan has become too expensive for them to renew. I'm not sure what I'll end up with, but I'm sure it won't be as affordable. I suspect that when the numbers we're seeing starts to include lost employer plans as well, they will be much bigger.
