Curiosity

I will give a rare kudo to a government agency.  I am sure it cost way too much, but I must say the Curiosity landing and the way it was done is extraordinarily cool.  These concept images help bring it to life.

    Warren,

Thanks for pointing this out. After looking at the pix, I found a very nice description at wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_Science_Laboratory

There is no such thing as "a kudo." "Kudos" is not a plural word. To steal from Wikipedia: (from Greek κῦδος, meaning 'glory') is a singular English word meaning acclaim or praise for exceptional achievement.

    Kudo to you BlogDog,

Finally a fraction of my taxes are used for something I approve of. It's just depressing where the rest goes.

I thought it was really cool too, however I have to say I don’t think we should be spending money on this kind of thing right now. Other than being really cool I don’t see any real benefit.

$2.5B, but worth it. Worth it at least compared to other ways that Uncle Sam would find to spend it on (e.g., even more food stamps).
