Finally, I Wrote A Semi-Clever Headline

I am the worst headline-writer ever.  Most of my posts have titles like "update on climate debate."  However, I finally wrote one at Forbes I kind of liked.  I wrote last week about Steve Zwick's article hoping to assign the catastrophic costs of climate change to those ill-intentioned skeptics.   He has walked that back a bit, at least the invective about letting people's house burn down, and I have some additional comments in response.

I've snarked for quite awhile that the only logical behavior for people who truly believe in the precautionary principle is to go suck on a shotgun. I mean, it's the only 100%, absolute way to guarantee that you will experience no further negative events in your life. Oh, wait, the cost is too high...? But... but... but... the risks!!!

You should take your cue in writing headlines from The Onion. They're great at it.

Of note, I did a bit more testing into the Google hits for jailing climate skeptics/alarmists. Because the terms 'skeptics' and 'alarmists' would often appear regardless of who wants whom jailed, I tried putting "jailing climate ###" in quotes. "Jailing climate skeptics" has 552 results, while "Jailing climate alarmists" has 1 hit, your Forbes article. Obviously this is a highly unscientific test and there are ad hominem attacks on both sides, but I would tend to believe calls for more drastic action (ie. jailing and burning down houses) side more with the skeptics.

Somehow, even with a poor memory for names. Pons and Fleishman are etched in my brain forever.

Several researchers have died, trying to verify their conclusions.

Bravo. I wonder what said Head would say about the likelihood of climate change turning the habitat into a "Swamp" or its effect upon "Buildings and Food."

Instead going for the denial angle, how about going for the pro's of global warming? History has shown global warming to be benefical and global cooling disastrous. Europeans thrived during the global warming period but they saw immediate famine and violence when the globe experienced a sudden cooling near the end of the 19th century.

Gil, Gil, Gil, it isn't about warming or cooling, it is about control. Whatever reasonable argument one might make on this subject it will be meet the same fate. This is about implementing an economic regimen that insures FOA's (A = alarmists) get rich and that wealth will be redistributed according to political elites.

    >>> the result of the team’s final home game before the election has always correctly picked who will lead the nation for the next four years.

I get the feeling you've just doomed the Redskin's four or five best players by calling attention to this. They clearly have only 6-odd months to live....

....Now where did I put those explosives and that sniper rifle?
    :D

    Ummm, unintentionally ambiguous, methinks....

"side more against the skeptics" might be an improvement... :-)

Uh huh. YOu might say an order to evacuate a city because of an impending hurricane is about "control" and people shouldn't be ordered to do anything and should decide for themselves what to do (including nothing).
