Maybe there's something with my system, but: I can only ever actually see any content on the Whitehouse petitions page under IE. Firefox and Chrome just display the menus, the footer, and a big white space in between. Probably the content is getting eaten by an ad-blocker or something.

Anyhow, great web engineering by our government - right in line with the general degree of competence demonstrated everywhere else...

  2. me:

    yeah - can't see anything there :(

  3. Judge Fredd:

    That... was beautiful.

  4. Capn Rusty:

But we have to register with the White House to talk to it.

  5. Don:

It's almost worth the storm troopers coming to sign this.

I had the same browser issue in Firefox. Went to IE and it was okay. I think you could make the enemies list signing this petition.

  7. Jim Collins:

    caseyboy,
I'm on the enemies list so many times that it isn't even funny. I hear a strange buzz I immediately look for a Predator drone with a Hellfire.

  8. Matt:

We should start a petition to have the first five words of the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution tattooed on every congress critter's forehead.

  9. Me:

    I second Matt's motion

  10. Matt:

    Me,

Do you know what those five words are without looking it up?

  11. Don:

    Matt:
    "Congress shall pass no law..."

    Do I get a prize? ;^)

  12. Matt:

    Don,

No, but in my opinion those are the five most important words in the entire constitution.

So if we get 25,000 signatures, do we all get a cookie? Or will it be 1 cookie, shared equally?
Guess we'll have to look for the official White House motto for direction:

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

    >>>> “Congress shall pass no law…”

Don, Matt, Tattoo the first on their foreheads, and the one above on their asses.

Maybe if they're forced to sit gingerly on them for a while, they'll remember that there's something there and what it says.

P.S. connection problems to the WH website, it's like to be an ad blocker, AVS, or other secondary firewall, assuming you're using the latest FFox (7.01) -- I had no problem accessing the above page, even though I use adblock plus.

Give the white house my e-mail address? No thanks...
