As an amateur photographer myself I have to say that Dorothea Lange was a fantastic photographer. I disagree with her politics but her photography was fantastic. Here's a link to one of the very first photographs she took:
Wow, what a flashback! My great-grandfather owned & ran a store just like that one -- with one of the same style of gasoline pump -- in southwestern Virginia.
It was closed by the time I was old enough to remember seeing it, but the building and pump were still there.
