Ethanol is not the answer. Here are some factors to add into the 'green' equation of ethanol. The farm equipment used to collect and ship the crop are all diesel. The processing facility for crops to fuel use propane. And the big one: The forest destruction to offset petroleum 15% would DEVASTATE the ecosystem.
The production is some like for every ONE gallon of petroleum used in the making of the ethanol, ONE gallon of ethanol.
Of course I am oversimplifying.
