Hehehe, I half expected Frodo to decide that he wanted to keep the ring, at which Gandalf orders the eagle: 'bombs away'. Last shot of the eagle flying off into the distance and Gandalf saying 'we'll build a statue for you'.
Frodo did decide he wanted to keep the ring. Gollum bit it off his hand, along with a finger, and fell over the edge, thereby quite accidentally saving the mission.
