Obesity battle starts young for urban poor
By the time they reach the age of 3, more than one-third of low-income
urban children are already overweight or obese, according to a study
released yesterday that provides alarming evidence that the nation's
battle of the bulge begins when toddlers are barely out of diapers.

As I recall it, the party line a few years ago was that our evil society put so much emphasis on slimness that there was an epidemic (a popular word) of anorexia nervosa among young women. What ever happened to that problem?

I would say the driving force is, "There are more opportunities to control others in obesity."
Any money earned is secondary to the cause...
