    The automaton is strikingly similar in some respects to the automaton featured in the 2011 movie Hugo. I don't recall many of the details of that automaton, but it seems close enough that I wonder if portions of the movie were inspired by this machine.

    The link is utterly dead. I suggest it needs a bit more than the current zero to make it researchable for posterity.

    I'm looking at bowman's entry below, which reminds ME what it was, so i can go find a new link to it... but others may not have seen it at all.

    I could post the link i find but that may be ephemeral, too.
