Obviously not applicable to The Monkees, who were one of the last "sixties" bands to not have all its members alive. The recent death of Davy Jones is their first.

And it's not like they weren't hanging out with him A LOT -- they pushed for, and managed to get -- Jimi to open for them on one of their tours, before he became well known... only lasted (IIRC) five gigs, as The Monkee's fan base wasn't quite ready for Jimi. Not that that should be much of a surprise.

    Monkees Trivia Question:
What later very famous singer/musician/performer whose real name was "Davy Jones" had to change his name to avoid confusion?

After you answer, here's the answer, an early clip (which actually announced him as Davy Jones though that's been edited out) with him demonstrating the acting talent that he also became known for.

Here's another early clip you've probably never seen

ya think it might be the massive amounts of alcohol and illegal drugs had something to do with it?

  3. Bram:

Were Jimi and Bob Marley doing the Hokie Pokie? They are putting their right foot in.
