We are considering switching our Blue Cross / Blue Shield individual health coverage to a higher deductible policy from Assurant.  Anyone have any experience with these guys, positive or negative?

    Please publish a follow-up with whatever you learn. My son has a temporary position in an engineering firm and thus has no insurance. Given his age (23) I think a high deductible policy, perhaps one based on an HSA, would be the way for him to go.

    I've got Assurant in NH. it seems to work OK, they pay teir share of the bills and none of my providers ahve complained. My policy does have preferred providers which cost less than outsiders. But that seems to be common these days.I preferred Mutual of Omaha, but they left the NH market due to stupid regulations. -ash
