HDR Photography Test
I have never been satisfied with my pictures of the rock formations on my parents ranch. They have always lacked the depth and detail I saw in nature. I played around this week with HDR photography, which uses multiple exposures of the same image to bring out more contrast and detail. Here is a closeup of the rocks. I also got a nice effect with the clouds, combining multiple exposures with small cloud movement. (click for higher resolution image)

I always forget to take off the lens cap so I doubt I could offer any useful tips.
But I enjoy looking at good lamdscape photography and here is a web site with outstanding

Wow, that came out really well. I've always also had problems trying to take photos like that (my mom lives about 25 miles outside of Santa Fe where it's incredibly beautiful but difficult to photograph well). I'll have to give this a shot!

That's very nice. Is there any way you can take a shot of the same rock formation with a 'regular' camera, and post a side by side comparison?
